The Arts Learning Program supports lifelong learning in the arts by promoting and expanding quality arts education opportunities for all Nevada citizens through statewide initiatives, grants and professional development opportunities.
PROGRAMS & SERVICES
POETRY OUT LOUD
We are celebrating 16 years of Nevada Poetry Out Loud! The National Endowment for the Arts and The Poetry Foundation partner with the Nevada Arts Council to support Poetry Out Loud in communities throughout the state. High school students in public, private, charter, home, and virtual schools master public speaking skills, build self-confidence, and learn about their literary heritage through the memorization of classic and contemporary poetry. ARTISTS IN SCHOOLS + COMMUNITIES ROSTER (AIS+C)
The Artists in Schools + Communities (AIS+C) Roster is designed as an online resource for schools, organizations, and communities to broaden and diversify participation in the arts through the engagement of artists in educational and community cultural residencies and programs. Teaching artists and ensembles of all disciplines are encouraged to apply. Read more
ARTS LICENSE PLATE
Drive home your support of the arts with a “Rich in Art” license plate. For each plate issued, $15 of the initial fee and $10 of the renewal fee supports statewide arts education programs of the Nevada Arts Council and VSA arts of Nevada. Read more
FUNDING OPPORTUNITIES
FY19 ARTIST RESIDENCY EXPRESS GRANT
The Artist Residency Express (AREx) Grant is designed for community and educational sponsors to host a short-term artist residency (one to three days). AREx grants are offered on a first-come, first-served basis throughout the year while funds are available. Read more
FY21 ARTS LEARNING PROJECT GRANT
The Arts Learning Project Grant is an annual grant which supports growth through the arts for Pre-K through 12th-grade students. Read more
STAFF & TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE
The Arts Learning (AL) Program offers research, guidance, and referrals for the development of arts education projects and plans. AL staff can assist in identifying and applying for alternative sources for funding that support arts education and provide material support for arts education advocacy.
